The fourth in the series of 35 Eurythmy Figures, this gesture represents the German O sound, like the o in stolen (IPA sound oː).

Materials
The figure is painted on high quality 3mm Russian Baltic Birch plywood that has been precision lasercut to the exact outline of Rudolf Steiner’s preparatory sketch. The wood was then sanded smooth, treated, and then hand painted with archival quality pigmented colored India inks.
Size
The figures are more or less exactly the size Steiner drew them, with very minor adjustments. They have been normalized to have a height from head to foot of approximately eight inches (20cm). Most figures are thus around 11 inches (28 cm) in total with the base. There are two figures that have their arms above their heads; these are about 12 inches total (30cm). The dimensions listed below are for the figures packed for shipping.
The series
Rudolf Steiner produced pencil sketches for 35 Eurythmy Figures, grouped into three sections: Vowels, Consonants, and Soul Gestures. For each figure he indicated three colors using hatching: Movement, Feeling, and Character. The Movement color generally colors the figure, the Feeling color overlays and colors the draped veil, and the Character color highlights specific parts. Blending these colors can be a challenge. Steiner indicated them in black and white. Combining them while keeping the colors distinct was not easily accomplished.
The 2019-2020 edition is a limited set of Eurythmy Figures made by Daniel Hindes in 2019 into early 2020. There are five complete sets, five sets of vowels, consonants, and soul gestures, and five individual figures available. Once they are sold out, they are gone. There may be a few more made in 2020 or 2021; these will be identified as a new series.
Each figure is individually hand painted. There will be slight differences between individual figures in the series. No two are exactly alike. The photo is representative, and will probably not be the exact figure you receive.
